Ignasi is a trained musician and cultural manager with nearly 30 years of experience. Since 2007, he has been the director of the culture and science division of “la Caixa” Foundation, the number one Spanish private foundation and the sixth largest in the world in terms of executed annual budget. 

Ignasi is responsible for a number of programmes, including programming for the Barcelona Science Museum (CosmoCaixa) and a network of nine CaixaForum centers that make a vital contribution to the cultural offer of cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Palma, Zaragoza, Valencia and Seville. One of Ignasi’s latest projects is the launch of a touring experience known as Symphony – an innovative virtual reality journey to the heart of music, led by maestro Gustavo Dudamel, which will tour Spain and Portugal for the next 10 years. Another is CaixaForum+, a recently implemented free digital platform for the dissemination of science and art.
